While visiting my mother over Christmas, I was asked to come on Luke Dodson’s podcast. Luke discovered my writing through my article Meeting Spengler at Winter’s End, in Man’s World Issue 4.
Luke runs a cool website called Symbiotic Culture, and he has previously hosted on his podcast such towering figures as Mary Harrington, John Michael Greer, and the Stone Age Herbalist. I was deeply humbled to be offered time on his show.
Episode description follows:
Luke talks to writer Alexander Leong about Oswald Spengler, John Michael Greer, and the importance of physical and mental training for an age of industrial decline. Leong suggests that Taoism and Confucianism have helped Asian civilizations through periods of instability, and that Taoist philosophy could help those of us in the West achieve a state of balance in our own times.
