The disconnect I feel with the world has surely peaked? All forms of “news media” seem childish, I utterly refuse to do social media and advertising is now like a prop knife to the torso - completely ineffective and fake in a faux-stabby way. People around me, when I’m around people which happens less and less, are all doughy and sluggish or broken and mentally haunted. If you see it Alex and I can see it, we must be greater in number than I imagine. I’m bored and saddened by this zombie horde. I want to see people again.
We are here and always have been. Many of us, as I'm sure, choose to keep a low profile for strategic reasons. Stay tuned, you're among like minded people now.
I spend a lot of time in the wilderness as well Mr Raven, ever since Covid made me homeless. It is my preference now too. People and all their institutions etc. are ugly to me.
I agree, also, that there are pockets of Tradition left in this debauched husk of civilization. I'm beginning to see them more and more frequently, which tells me there are other people--possibly more than we might think--searching for them, too. It's a deep hole to crawl out of, but I don't think it's hopeless. We can't believe that if we're ever to succeed.
Excellent piece, you gained a subscriber. There are some of us that became skeptical of the world order many, many years ago, a time before internet when a man, who only wanted to live in the wilderness and raise his family, had his son, wife and dog killed and a church was burned to the ground along with some of it's members along with their children. It was a very interesting time, no social media, no internet, yet a movement formed and it was sweeping across the nation, networked at gun shows and the copying and distribution of VCR tapes, off the wall publications through the mail. The leaders of this movement had become skeptical long before that, they had become skeptical in the jungles of Southeast Asia. The movement was squashed when it was said one from their ranks had done the unthinkable, blew up a bomb that killed innocent men, women and children. I was in that movement, I live in Okla and knew some of those killed in that blast, so it struck deep. When that bomb went off we realized that we had entered into a next generation of warfare that we were unprepared for, we shut up and hunkered down. Those once leaders are old men now. I agree with you on Love being our greatest weapon, but would add that sword is double edged with Truth as the sharpest. Love and Truth is what we can kill this Leviathan with.
This really brings me back. I discovered Social Matter around 2017 or so, and TWIR very rapidly became something I looked forward to every week. It was quite disappointing when it disappeared, so abruptly, without warning.
There's no question that the ideas discussed on SM had a big impact on my worldview. How could they not? There was a depth to them, and a raw honesty to match the sophistication, that could be found nowhere else. A table of red meat in a wasteland of junk candy and poison.
I strongly agree with bringing back the Silver Circle. I've been doing a weekly Substack review for a few weeks .. at the back of my mind I was thinking that it might become something analogous to TWIR, although it's very far from that as of yet.
"A table of red meat in a wasteland of junk candy and poison" sums it up perfectly.
My issue with much DR content then and now, is that so much of it either falls back on cliched emotional appeals – outrage porn, "Can you even believe they're doing this?" kind of schtick – or relies too heavily on bombarding the reader with graphs and tables of data that proooove the reality of HBD or whatever the author's claim is. Naturally that sort of data-heavy approach only convinces dudes who are already halfway there, or literally autistic.
SM managed to delicately balance both.
The next two weeks I'll be posting a weekly Substack review to get a feel for it (really it's just to share posts I enjoy without using the cross-post feature). It's not going to be remotely close to TWIR, but if I do it right, it will capture the spirit of the thing.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I'm still experimenting with the format, figuring out what works and what doesn't. So far it's mostly just been recommending writers I think deserve more exposure/bromoting my friends, but each time I've done it I've had to leave a great deal out in the interests of space....
I'll see what I can manage. The writing isn't the hard part IMO, it's the reading and filtering that I am sure will restrain my ambition. Need to try anyway to see how it goes.
I refer to the Four Horsemen of the UNApocalypse: Healthism (medical tyranny shots etc), Climatism (environment), Safeism (occupation/work/play) and Racism (freedom of speech), all manufactured to provide infinite faux-justification to control, meddle and interfere infinitely in the affairs of Man. I utterly despair and am simultaneously profoundly infuriated by the widespread social narcosis or its cousin, the intentional, culpable, self-interested selective disregard of the elements of murderous tyranny that beset us.
Is anybody really awake?
And then I came here courtesy of John Carter. Thank you.
It's becoming a herculean effort on my part to stop subscribing to the wonderful, idiosyncratic, disparity laden (in the best meaning of that word) iconoclastic, traditionally inspired, forward and future inclined, hopeful and heroic, with ideas, not bombast, combining the best of all these into writing that is thought-provoking, badly needed and just damned good! It's an effort worth doing. Thanks, John, for the recommendation. Happily subscribed as commanded😃
For a while it looked like the American Sun's Friday roundups would go a little way to filling in the gap left by TWIR, but it's dropped off a lot. It's clearly a huge amount of work.

Putting together my own digest has been quite eye-opening. I've been linking eight or so articles a week, and with adding commentary, formatting, etc., to say nothing of actually reading them, it takes probably 5-6 hours to put together. Something on the scale of TWIR would probably be more like 20, assuming it was all one person which I think it was.
Edit: and yeah, I still check American Sun's weekly Winners, Losers, and Links, but it's super low effort.
I still check American Sun's weekly roundup post. Unfortunately, as John has said, it's super low effort. This is not to say I'm not glad it's there, but it truly takes hours of work to sift through dozens of blogs and hundreds of articles to put together something on the scale of TWIR. One assumes the post itself was written by one person, but the recommendations would have been collectively vetted by the editors.
Very impressive yes. We have newer, better tools even on this platform to streamline that process that they didn't have. Someone should take advantage of that.
Keep peeling off the layers. The heart of the onion is rotten. The onion you were handed was just another distraction.
The evil has infiltrated every level of society. They are called freemasons and they are they are the bought, blackmailed or greedy, weak and immoral. You could be working for one or sleeping with one without any idea, such is the depth of their lie.
The masonic code is worth studying.
They have to tell people what they are going to do ( in plain sight)
They will never admit to wrongdoing.
If they break the code they are murdered. Maybe not immediately, but at a convenient time.
Most freemasons are like the arms of the hydra. The hydra can grow more at any time so discards those that have done their job or get caught in a fix.
Freemasons are the visible but not visible arms of even darker forces: the Anon ymous controllers. These are very old families that have been around since the Priests of Anon. E.g. the black nobililty.
These priests accumulated their initial wealth from the Pharaohs that they destroyed slowly by convincing them to keep their bloodlines pure through incest.
These priests saw that people people want to have things now, not after they have worked to pay for them. The priests took great interest in this and debt slavery replaced the prior form but was no less cruel.
But at the heart of the matter is the first lie. The first lie you heard and sat silent. The first lie you told and kept secret then propagated with another and another.
The lies from the truth is muddy only because everything in our lives and History has been based on lies. Even our language is corrupt and has always been purposely addapted for the use of the controllers.
I sincerely hope that some sort of egragore or alien is to blame. It seems the more positive view and given that we are all living a lie and everything is on its head, more and more possible.
"I don’t expect you to know what I’m talking about."
And yet, so many of us do, in our burgeoning house of noesis.
This was beautiful, by the way.
Thank you Mark. Coming from you, that is high praise indeed. Cheers!

So glad I live in a wilderness area, which while not totally unaffected by "the current thing," has its own rhythms the city hoards know nothing of.
I spend a lot of time in the wilderness as well Mr Raven, ever since Covid made me homeless. It is my preference now too. People and all their institutions etc. are ugly to me.
Beautifully said.

We are few, but only a few are needed. Thank you for being here!
Best line in this thread so far!
You cruxified it with " is anyone truly awake"

Social Matter was great there are archives of it around like https://socialmatterarchive.wordpress.com/

Yes, it must have been a group effort at some level, but a Herculean one even so. Amazing they kept it up so long in retrospect.

Yes. I agree.

I was already on the path (started around 2002) but dioscovering the Neo-reactionary/Dark Enlightenment definitely accelerated things. Nice essay.
Great stuff!
Thank you.
I wasn’t really on the internet back in the era you spoke of.
But I’m here now and this is a great idea
No time like the present, brother.
We do biweekly roundups of the best of the new right, however we are not highbrow in the least.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
